“To Jennifer Gelb, My breathing’s good, I talk out loud, Of this, you can be proud. For you’re the one who got ‘er done, And made it so much fun. Jennifer, thanks for your encouragement, patience, and great smile!”

Without the help of each of my physical therapists I would not have achieved the goals I wanted to reach. Each one had a different method or tidbit of information that contributed to the success of my physical therapy.

Thank you for your patience, encouragement, dedication, and kindness shown to me during my rehab. Three months ago I came into Lake Centre for Rehab in a wheelchair unable to walk and today I walked in! My husband and I are forever grateful!

I have met many athletic trainers and physical therapist professionals in my 40 year athletic career however I have never met anyone with such a knowledgeable experience level, compassion, and interest to help others as Brett.

I was a patient at Lake Centre for Rehab prior to my left total knee replacement and following the surgery as well. The care and therapy that I was given at Highland Lakes was outstanding!

Sydney graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders and a minor in Disabilities in Society. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida. Sydney is the first in her family to obtain both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.
During high school, Sydney was a multi-talented athlete as she participated in volleyball, competitive Olympic & high school weight lifting, and pole vaulting for track and field. As of today, Sydney assists with the Leesburg girls’ weightlifting program.
Sydney is very passionate about alternative communication, whether it is low-tech communication books or AAC devices. She plans to further her education in Sign Language and therapy for patients diagnosed with Auditory Processing Disorders. Sydney was a part of a group of student-clinicians who traveled on a cruise ship for a week with patients who had Aphasia. She said that it taught her how powerful communication can be and enforced that she should encourage every patient to conquer anything they set their mind to.
Outside of work, Sydney loves weightlifting and fishing. She also enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Jedi and Scarlett.
